Helping the only charity dedicated to funding allergy research
Learn how one of our digital experts helped the Natasha Allergy Research Foundation, with CEO Tim McLachlan.
Please could you introduce yourself and how you came to hear about Furlonteer?
My name is Tim McLachlan and I am the Chief Executive of the Natasha Allergy Research Foundation. We heard about Furlonteer through reading the news. It seemed like a great idea to match folks with skills and time on furlough with organisations who needed those skills.
Could you tell us a little more about your charity?
The Natasha Allergy Research Foundation is the only charity in the world dedicated to funding allergy research and finding cures and treatments for allergic diseases. Our vision is a world that is safe for all allergy sufferers everywhere. Our mission is to:
Prevent and cure food allergies for every food allergy sufferer.
Bring about positive change by focusing on law, education, awareness and research to ensure the needs of allergic disease sufferers are met in a meaningful way.
We aim to offer a new hope that will change the lives of all those living with this life-threatening disease.
Which role/s were you able to find support with through Furlonteer?
We want to connect with every individual and family affected by allergic disease, particularly food allergy. We needed help with our website and digital skills to do this.
Furlonteer is straightforward and the team are very quick to match you with a volunteer. It's the most efficient volunteer matching scheme I know and sets the standard for future volunteering in the voluntary sector.
